Why choose a company that has both Surveying and Engineering services to undertake your development?

If you’re thinking of developing your property you need to take into account that this involves many varied aspects and therefore requires a very good support network. This network will be made up of a designer/architect, engineers, surveyors as well as a project manager who will coordinate every last detail.  This team of industry professionals will be paramount in making your development a reality.

Choosing a company that offers both surveying and engineering services is the most cost-effective way to approach your development goals.

Project development is based on survey measurements and construction is executed along those lines and points that have been established by the surveyors.

When a development/construction project is underway, our surveyors and engineers ensure that the project is completed and meets all building codes and standards. Although the two are related,  surveyors and engineers both perform very different roles and are both vital to seeing the project from inception/drawing board to completion.

Surveyors will determine the boundaries for property lines, identify ideal construction sites and environmentally sensitive areas to establish the exact location of buildings, roads, sidewalks and common areas, as well as the proper depths for foundations, working closely with engineers and other construction professionals to ensure all topics specific to the construction are handled before the actual building begins.

Surveyors start from the premise of the value and use of land, and engineers begin by thinking about the strength and stability of the structural elements.

Engineers use the surveyor's report to help determine costs and time lines for a project and identify potential hazards or hurdles. They also test organic matter to determine the adequacy and strength of the foundation and identify and test building materials such as concrete and steel, for specific projects before commencement of construction.

A civil engineer's tasks typically involves analyzing survey reports, construction costs, regulations, potential hazards and other planning factors. The job also includes overseeing, or participating in, surveying to establish reference points, grades, and elevations that are useful to guide construction.

Structural Engineers will design and assess major projects to ensure their strength and durability.

We hope this information has been useful, if you have any questions please get in touch and we would be delighted to assist!
